Chris & Wendy England
- Missionaries to Croatia
“Go and make
disciples of all nations. . . .” God has called Chris and Wendy England
to “go” internationally and reach out to the lost through the love of
Christ. They have experienced missions firsthand on various short-term
mission trips. These experiences helped to confirm God’s call on their
lives. In answering their call to missions, Chris and Wendy have been
appointed by Global Partners as career missionaries to Croatia.
Chris is a third generation Wesleyan. When he was 18 years old, he
recommitted his life to Christ at a holiness camp. Chris was called into the
ministry two years later at the same camp. In 1992 he graduated from
Bartlesville Wesleyan College (now Oklahoma Wesleyan University) with a B.S.
degree in youth ministry. Since graduation, he has served as the youth
pastor at Cedar Ridge Wesleyan in Enid, Oklahoma; Eastlawn Wesleyan in
Indianapolis, Indiana; and Dayspring Christian Fellowship in New Braunfels,
Texas.
Wendy (Patterson) accepted Jesus into her heart at the age of nine. At 14
she started attending a Wesleyan youth group where she learned how her life
could be transformed through a relationship with Christ. She completely
surrendered her life to God when she was 20. Wendy earned her degree in
elementary education from Bartlesville Wesleyan College. She has been
involved with children, youth, and worship ministries.
Colossians 1:28-29 speaks to Chris and Wendy about their call to ministry
and missions: “We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all
wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I
labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.”
They desire to see lives transformed by the power of God and then to see
transformed lives grow to know and understand their own personal calls to
minister.
Chris and Wendy have two sons, Kyler and Caden.
